PGRs gathered to catch up and discuss various aspects, as well as to elect their “Student representative”.

The gathering also included:

  • Welcoming new members.
  • Election of the Student Representative –> Mr Touseef Ahmed  was elected.
  • Schedule for the PGRs research presentations. (signed up till end of the 2013)
  • The new PGR community on Blackboard.
  • PG week.
  • Travel fund (internal and external sources).
  • UKBA requirements and compliance procedure.
  • Ideas/suggestions for activities (social and sports).

Many thanks to all attended, and all the suggested ideas and initiatives.

PGRs Induction Sept. 2012

Postgraduate by Research (PGR) students, within the School of Computer Science, have had an induction event today. This was also  associated with the Welcome and enrolment week.

The program was as follows:

 

13:00  – Welcome to ALL    {venue: MC3108 }

 

13:00-14:00  – Postgraduate School Welcome & Induction  {venue: MC3108 }

 

14:00-15:30  – Library and Learning Resources & support.  {venue: MC3108 }

 

+ Technical/Computing resources + H&S.

 

10:00 – 15:00 – Enrolment { Venue: Comp Lab A }

 

Optional: 17:00-18:00 – Table Tennis at Sports Centre (All Welcome)

 

“Welcoming Reception” for all LSoCS Postgraduate by Research (PGR)

School of Computer Science had a “Welcoming Reception” for all Postgraduate by Research students (PGR), especially those who joined us in the last period.

Lunch and Tea/Coffee were provided in the Academic Staff Area between 11:50 and 12:50.

Both staff and PGRs attended. It was a good opportunity to briefly get together (especially after marking and boards, but before holidays) and welcome our PGRs.
